What Can Acupuncture Treat in Pets?

Pain disorders

I often treat dogs and cats for acute and chronic pain issues like these:

Intervertebral disc disease

Back and neck pain and stiffness

Leg stiffness and lameness

Hip and elbow dysplasia

Arthritic pain

Post-surgical pain management

Digestive + Urinary Disorders

Digestive disorders encompass a wide range of conditions that affect the gastrointestinal system of our pets. These can include but are not limited to:

Lack of appetite/picky eating

Constipation

Nausea

Loose stools/diarrhea

Incontinence

Colitis

Skin Disorders

Skin disorders in pets can be caused by a variety of factors, including allergies, environmental irritants, hormonal imbalances, nutritional deficiencies, or even stress. Identifying and addressing the underlying cause is crucial to finding long-lasting relief for your pet. Herbal medicine and dietary changes are often recommended.

Chemotherapy Side-Effects

Animals going through chemotherapy often experience various side effects that can be challenging. We work with the patient’s veterinarian to offer acupuncture as a safe and effective complementary therapy. The goal is to minimize the side effects of chemotherapy so that the dog or cat has a better chance of finishing their course of chemo.

Fatigue

Fatigue is not restricted solely to humans but can also affect our beloved pets, including cats and dogs.

Respiratory Disorders

Animals can suffer from a range of respiratory conditions that may require attention and treatment.

Asthma

Cough
